Do you really want to help Haiti?

Welcome to Help Haiti! This is a place where concerned souls, Haitians and Foreigners alike, will be able to find ways and sometimes means to do some good to our precious little island. We intend, with your help, to build a tremendous list of Organizations and Individuals who are unselfishly lending a hand to the people of Haiti.

Let’s begin by performing some advanced web searches in order to find more of those unknown organizations, and post the results here. Consequently, a valuable resource will be made available to anyone with a sincere desire to help Haiti. (No more excuses!)

A lot of us have superior knowledge of web technologies. Please, help revive those dead Haiti-oriented websites. Write to the webmasters to see if you can take them over or help with their maintenance. You may also donate money if you cannot help in that capacity. If you have internet access, you definitely have the means to identify a few more areas in need of assistance.

Please, give a little of your time and make a difference. Find pockets of inadequacy, lack, poverty, illiteracy, etc… In other words, find a need and fill it! Pick an organization from this list and contact them. See how you can help further their cause or mission. Offer to do Translations, Proofreading, Website Makeover, Research, etc. Those of you who are good at Fundraising, please, do provide your help where it’s needed. Send clothes, food, or money to all worthy organizations.

Do something! We beg you, Haiti begs you!

We were devastated to find so many Adoption Rings targeting Haitian children. Our children are more than adoptees, and we are a lot more than surrogate parents. Please adopt or sponsor an Haitian orphan or disavantaged child instead of some unknown child from another country. We have handicapped ones too. Send some wheelchairs or other badly needed assistive devices.

The idea for this list came to me soon after I wrote the Squidoo lens: “Haitians don’t Eat Mud”. While doing research for the article, I was amazed at the amount of unknown people and organizations engaged in the betterment of Haiti. They are doing it quietly, without any publicity. This led me to write another lens titled: “Organizations Helping Haiti”, which is basically this same list we are referring to.
