This is Jessie, the Cutest German Shepherd ever! She is the one who made it all happen. Thanks to her, Lakay Graphics and Bagay Lakay came into existence.
Everything started as a Greeting Card making stunt, and this was the first one I designed and printed. Many more came after this one, but I never got the same feeling of achievement I had from seeing this one printed on real card stock.
I never went ahead with the production. I got busy making banners and I also did a few nice Pen & Ink drawings around that time. I went back to my old job as a paste up artist at the Screen Printing shop and all but forgot about those designs. A few months ago, I finally decided to join the Print on Demand train. I dusted off my old card designs, so to speak, added a few new ones, and there! The Cafepress Store was born.
As you can see, this also began as a Greeting Cards only store, but I soon realized that designing T-shirts was easier and more rewarding. I upload new designs to my Greeting Cards sections on special occasions only. And thanks to the Cafepress interface, I can add the same design on T-shirts, Greeting Cards and a bunch of other products at the same time with ease.
This post and the related section on lakay-graphics.com are here to honor Jessie and her owner who encouraged me a lot in this “graphic” endeavour and others. Even though this lovely shepherd went to Dog Heaven a few years ago, she lives forever in my heart and her owner’s.
